Ray Cook Posts Pair of Top Tens; Eyes Portsmouth and WVMS this Weekend!

(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Ray Cook and the D&R Motorsports team trekked to the Ohio Valley over the August 27-28 weekend for two more Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series battles in the states of Indiana and Kentucky. On Friday night at the Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, a $10,000 top prize was up for grabs in a SPEED Channel taped showdown. After running sixth in his stacked heat race, Ray earned the second transfer spot in his B-Main. He later rolled off from the inside of the tenth row in the 50-lap main event and worked his way past ten competitors to score a hard-fought ninth place performance.

At the Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, Kentucky on Saturday evening, another $10,000 winner's check was on the line in the annual running of the 'Bluegrass Classic.' Ray ran fourth in heat race action at the central Kentucky speedplant to earn the fourteenth starting position in the 50-lap A-Main. The Brasstown, North Carolina native once again moved forward in the feature, as he slipped past eight adversaries en route to a sixth place effort. Following the doubleheader weekend, Ray still sits fourth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings. Full results can be located online at www.lucasdirt.com.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will take the D&R Motorsports team to the states of Ohio and West Virginia over the Labor Day weekend for two huge mega-events. On Friday and Saturday, September 3-4, the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio will play host to the 'Pepsi 75 River Days Rumble,' which boasts a hefty $20,000 top prize. The extended holiday weekend will then conclude on Sunday, September 5 at the West Virginia Motor Speedway in Mineral Wells, West Virginia. A $42,000 winner's check is on the line in the 42nd Annual 'Hillbilly Hundred.' Ray is the defending 'Hillbilly Hundred' winner, as he took home the prestigious hardware last year at the Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, West Virginia. Additional information on these two programs can be located at www.lucasdirt.com.
