Ray Cook and his #53 Dirt Late Model team traveled west to the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois and the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri on July 16-17 for two more pivotal Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series battles. On Friday night at Granite City, Ray ran third in heat race action to earn the eleventh starting spot in the 'Budweiser 50.' During the course of the $10,000 to win main event, Ray was able to move up one position to finish tenth in the final rundown.

At Wheatland on Saturday evening, the D&R Motorsports team competed in another $10,000 to win LOLMDS showdown. Ray finished sixth in his stacked heat race, but later won his B-Main to earn a coveted transfer spot in the 'CMH Diamond Nationals.' The Brasstown, North Carolina driver sported a very fast racecar during the 50-lapper and passed ten competitors during the race to score a strong seventh place performance. Ray currently finds himself fourth in the latest Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point standings following the pair of SPEED Channel taped races. The D&R Motorsports team and driver Ray Cook trekked to the Deep South over the July 9-10 weekend for the 2nd Annual 'Clash at the Mag' at the Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi. The $20,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series program was taped by the cameras of the SPEED Channel for broadcast on July 31. Ray was strong during qualifying on Friday night and later ran second in heat race action.

After starting seventh on the grid in the 100-lapper on Saturday evening, Ray was able to pick off four competitors en route to a stellar third place performance behind only winner Earl Pearson, Jr. and runner-up Scott Bloomquist. The Brasstown, North Carolina native still sits fourth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings following the 'Clash at the Mag.' Full results can be located at www.lucasdirt.com.

RAY COOK SCORES PAIR OF $10,000 WINS! - July 5, 2010

Ray Cook and the #53 D&R Motorsports team were red-hot over the ultra-busy 4th of July holiday weekend, as they scored a pair of $10,000 victories and two additional podium finishes! On Thursday night at the Beckley Motorsports Park in Mount Hope, West Virginia, Ray won his heat race and led all fifty laps of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series feature event to record the win over Jimmy Owens, Josh Richards, Scott Bloomquist, and Dale McDowell. At the Midway Speedway in Crooksville, Ohio on Friday evening, Ray once again won his heat race before leading all fifty circuits of the 'Jim Dunn Memorial' en route to his ninth triumph of the season over Don O'Neal, Brad Neat, Bart Hartman, and Earl Pearson, Jr.

Two more Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series showdowns greeted the #53 team on Saturday and Sunday in the Buckeye State of Ohio. At the Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, Ohio on Saturday, Ray laid down the quickest lap during qualifying, won his heat race, and later led the first 44 laps of the $10,000 to win main event. Unfortunately, Earl Pearson, Jr. was able to sneak by Cook's MasterSbilt racecar following a late restart and Ray was forced to settle for a strong runner-up performance.

In Sunday's $10,000 to win weekend finale at the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio, the Brasstown, North Carolina native ran third in heat race action and later rolled off tenth in the 50-lap main event. Ray was then able to work his way past seven competitors during the A-Main to secure a third place effort behind only winner Earl Pearson, Jr. and runner-up Scott Bloomquist. The driver known as the "Tarheel Tiger" now finds himself fourth in the latest version of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point standings following the successful weekend. TRIO OF FOURTH PLACE FINISHES FOR COOK! - June 21, 2010

The D&R Motorsports team and driver Ray Cook ventured to a pair of Volunteer State speedplants to compete in three Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series showdowns from June 17-19. The historic Cleveland Speedway in Cleveland, Tennessee was up first for the #53 team, as a $10,000 top prize was up for grabs on Thursday night. Ray ran second in heat race action, which earned him the seventh starting spot in the 50-lap main event. The Brasstown, North Carolina driver rolled past three competitors in the A-Main at Cleveland to earn a fourth place finish behind only winner Jimmy Owens, Chris Madden, and Scott Bloomquist.

The ultra-fast Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee was up next on Friday and Saturday, as the high-banked venue played host to a pair of $10,000 to win shows that made up the annual 'Scorcher' weekend. Ray won his heat race on Friday prior to running fourth in the 50-lap feature event behind winner Jimmy Owens, Dan Schlieper, and Jonathan Davenport. His consistent weekend wrapped up with yet another fourth place performance on Saturday evening, as the "Tarheel Tiger" crossed underneath the checkers behind only winner Scott Bloomquist, Chris Madden, and Jonathan Davenport. Ray currently finds himself fifth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings following the trio of fourth place finishes. RAY COOK RUNNER-UP IN DREAM 100 - June 14, 2010

Ray Cook and the D&R Motorsports team invaded the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio over the June 11-13 weekend for the annual running of the 'Dream 100.' The richest event in the Dirt Late Model industry drew 104 entrants to the 1/2-mile, high-banked Ohio venue. Ray flexed his muscle during qualifying on Friday night, as he was strong in both rounds of time trials, ultimately winding up eleventh fastest.

The Brasstown, North Carolina native then won his heat race on Saturday evening to earn the outside front row starting spot for the $100,000 to win 'Dream 100.' Unfortunately, Mother Nature stepped in and postponed the 100-lapper until Sunday afternoon. When the action resumed at the "Big E" on Sunday, Ray took the lead at the drop of the green flag and paced the stout field for the first twenty circuits. On a lap twenty restart, Billy Moyer pulled a slide-job on Ray's #53 machine to grab the top spot, but the "Tarheel Tiger" stayed up on the wheel and kept Moyer in his sights for the remainder of the race. When the checkered flag fell on the 'Dream 100,' Ray found himself in the second position behind only winner Billy Moyer and pocketed $20,000 for his efforts.
